Dr. John H. Thomas

Dr. John H. Thomas is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Cincinnati, OH. He received an A.B. in Psychology from the University of Detroit, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and a Doctorate in Counselor Education from the University of Cincinnati.

A Highly Accredited Psychologist

Dr. Thomas is a member of the Board of Directors of the Zion Temple Christian Academy as well as a past Vice President of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists. Dr. Thomas is also a member of the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board Team (DODMERB) providing psychological assessments for people who are eager to serve in our United States military.
He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Ohio Psychological Association, the Cincinnati Academy of Professional Psychology, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Dr. Thomas has ties to the local community as a member of the Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky African American Chamber-Commerce. He was a past honoree for the Applause Magazine Image Makers Award as well as being featured in Venue Magazine as a top Cincinnati Psychologist. Dr. Thomas serves residents of the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky community in his practice.

Dr. Thomas is married to Attorney Leslie F. Thomas. He previously hosted a radio program called Psychology and Law for Life. The program aired on WAIF 88.3 FM on Friday nights. They previously hosted Psychology and Law for Life on The BUZZ 1230 AM. This program provided listeners with current events, politics, interpersonal relationships concepts, legal issues and other relevant topics.

Dr. Thomas counsels a diverse group of clients and uses multiple linguistic strategies to convey concepts to his clients. As a Christian Psychologist, he uses a wide range of biblical concepts and psychological theories to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals.

He believes the most effective results from psychotherapy can be achieved if the therapist and clients include biblical principles in the counseling to understand and resolve issues. Dr. Thomas is thoroughly convinced of the effectiveness of using biblical principles in his psychotherapeutic work.
